Formation of local council for G&J under consideration

Under the guidance of Alok Chaturvedi, director general, DGFT, 14 jewellers will meet in Delhi today to discuss the formation of a local gem & jewellery body

The third meeting, which is to be held today, will discuss the structure of a domestic council that will represent the needs of the entire jewellery value chain. The meeting will gather important members from the Gem & Jewellery Export Council (GJEPC), India Bullion & Jewellers Association (IBJA), All India Gems & Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) and Association of Gold Refineries & Mints (AGRM). The council is said to have all verticals on behalf of jewellers, bullion merchants, refiners, diamond manufacturers and every other stakeholder who is part of the value chain.
