GJEPC’s regional office in Jaipur held an open house on Customs issues on 25th August. The meeting was chaired by  Smt.Simmi Jain, Additional Director General, National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN), Jaipur Office, through a video conference.

The Commissioner of Customs, Jaipur, Shri. Subhash Chandra Agrawal answered the queries raised by the members. In his opening remarks, GJEPC Regional Chairman, Shri. Nirmal Kumar Bardiya welcomed all officers and members. He commended the efforts of Customs Officers under leadership of Shri. Agrawal for facilitating exports despite facing challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Port Asst. Commissioner and Dy. Commissioner were also present on the occasion. The Convener of the Council’s Coloured Gemstones Panel, Shri. Vijay Kedia concluded the open house with the vote of thanks. Among the key issues discussed were:

  • * Show cause notices issued for recovering IGST on
  • * Re-import of consignment  exported earlier, on payment of IGST
  • * Pendency of export payment realisation data being pushed from ICEGATE to EDPMS
  • * Examination of more than 90% export shipments of jewellery (RMS issue)
