MSME Webinar Simplifies E-Sanchit Procedures

GJEPC held a webinar on 26th March, 2021 to brief members on “E-Sanchit”, the single-window customs clearance portal. Part of the Council’s Uncut 2021 Webinar Series, the hour-long session was moderated by Manish Jiwani, Convener, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), GJEPC, and featured guest speaker Mihir Turakhia, Partner, Novel Exim. 

E-Sanchit registration has been made mandatory for all importers/exporters and they must electronically upload documents to obtain clearances. Turakhia briefed participants on the documentation and other processes involved in E-Sanchit registration.

He also explained steps such as registration for new users, how exporters can login to the Indian Customs Electronic Gateway (ICEGATE) website and E-Sanchit mechanism, and simplified the method for uploading documents.

Attendees were also briefed on the following Customs initiatives:

  • National Trade Facilitation Action Plan
  • SWIFT (Single Window Interface for Facilitating Trade)
  • AEO (Authorised Economic Operator)
  • E-Sanchit
  • DPD (Direct Port Delivery)
  • RFID (e-seats)
  • DPE (Direct Port Entry)
  • Upgradation of IceGate
  • TRS (Time Release Studies)
  • Advanced filing by Importers

Nearly 80 participants from India and overseas attended the lively discussion.
