GJEPC webinar explains taxation/GST, duty drawback

The webinar explained various benefits that exporters can claim and also shed light on the eligibility criteria and some important provisions of export schemes

The GJEPC conducted a webinar on “Taxation/GST and Duty Drawback in the Gems & Jewellery Industry” on 3rd February 2022 to sensitise members about the Duty Drawback and Export Incentives relevant to exporters. The session moderator Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC explained the various benefits that exporters can claim and also shed light on the eligibility criteria and some of the important provisions of the export schemes.

Guest speakers Siddharth Surana, Director, RSM India and Ritesh Negandhi, Associate Director - Indirect Taxation of RSM India were invited to brief the audience on the eligibility, benefits and status of the below mentioned schemes following the Budget announcements:

1. Duty Drawback under Sec 74 of Customs Act

2. Duty Drawback under Sec 75 of Customs Act

3. RODTEP Scheme

4. EPCG Scheme

5. Deemed Exports – Advance Authorization/ EOU

6. Special Economic Zones

The interactive session saw the speakers field several queries from the 139 participants.
