Mahabir Danwar Jewellers (MDJ) turned the spotlight on love, companionship, and celebration with the grand finale of its flagship contest Couple No.1 – Season 4, held at Fairfield by Marriott, Kolkata.
Launched on July 15, 2025, the fourth season built on the popularity of its earlier editions, once again giving couples a unique platform to showcase their bond through a series of engaging challenges. From these rounds, 12 finalists emerged to compete for the coveted title.
The finale brought glamour and star power with a distinguished jury panel comprising actress and Mrs. India Universe Richa Sharma, motivational speaker Naina More, actress Amrita Chattopadhyay, and jewellery designer Renu Soni of MDJ. The event also saw the presence of Vijay Soni, Arvind Soni, Sandeep Soni, and Amit Soni, Directors of Mahabir Danwar Jewellers, alongside an enthusiastic audience that played an active role in cheering and engaging throughout the evening.
Adding to the grandeur, male contestants donned bespoke creations by Saasya, while female participants showcased elegant ensembles from Simaaya. The show was directed by Miss Universe India 2010 Ushoshi Sen Gupta and conceptualised by San Entertainment, a boutique event agency.
Reflecting on the spirit of the contest, Arvind Soni and Sandeep Soni said the initiative is about celebrating the everyday journey of love:
“Marriage is not just about finding the right partner, but about becoming one. Couple No. 1 has always been about celebrating companionship and togetherness. Every season brings us closer to inspiring stories of couples and their unique journeys. This year, we are thrilled to crown our winners with a romantic trip to Bali — a destination that symbolizes love and adventure. For us, love is not just a feeling – it is a celebration to be cherished every single day.”
A special highlight of the finale was the unveiling of Padmavati – The Bridal Jewellery Collection by MDJ, which fused heritage craftsmanship with contemporary elegance for the modern bride. The evening also featured the launch of the book Look Like a Queen, Buy Like a Pro by Vijay Danwar, unveiled by MLA Vivek Gupta (Jorasanko), further adding a cultural dimension to the celebration.
