According to a report in the Economic Times, the Tata Group intends to invest $450 million in a joint mining venture in South Africa. Tata Africa Holdings' managing director Raman Dhawan said that “We would like to engage ourselves in all forms of mining. Like in our other businesses here, we would like to partner with an established company in the mining sector too.”
