Alrosa has recorded a 1.6% increase in its diamond production for the year-2007. The production in the year amounted to $2.37 billion. Its sales during the year exceeded projections; rough sales exceeded by $11.6 million, and polished diamonds by $9.6 million, reports RIA Novosti. Alrosa has increased the prices of roughs in view of the increasing gap between demand and supply, but the highest price growth was amongst large and premium quality diamonds.
