The ongoing financial crisis has made its way into the second half of September 2008, and has brought the Polished Price Index back to the time of the beginning of the year. The prices of polished diamond have seen a dip to slipping numbers. The Polished Price index declined by 4.9 percent, from its peak of September 14th, 2008.%% This slide in the Index has eaten into the year’s growth and placed the Index at what it was valued the beginning of the year.
