CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation has released a one-pager condensed version of its Ruby and Sapphire Guides, with simplified literature for consumers to know when assessing the quality of rubies and sapphires. The contents of the guides fall within the same genre of CIBJO’s Coloured Stone Blue Book, which contains definitive set of standards for the grading, methodology and nomenclature of coloured gemstones. %% The one-page document can be downloaded from the CIBJO website and so far is available in English. CIBJO has asked the national members of the organisation for the guide to be translated into regional languages like Arabic, Chinese and Russian, for better understanding for consumers across the globe. %% The CIBJO Ruby and Sapphire Guides were ratified at the 2009 CIBJO Congress in Istanbul, Turkey, in May.
