An agreement has been signed between Gem Diamonds' subsidiary Kimberley Diamonds and Laurelton Diamonds- the diamond sourcing and polishing subsidiary of Tiffany & Co.. According to the agreement, Gem Diamonds will supply Tiffany & Co. with fancy yellow diamonds sourced from its Ellendale mine in Australia. The agreement comes into effect from December 2009 until the economic lifespan of the Ellendale mine, reports say. %% This move is being seen by Gem Diamonds as a strong marketing platform for its fancy yellow diamonds from the Ellendale mine. Tiffany on it part believes the association would inspire it to churn out unique designs in 2010, which require high-quality yellow diamonds, reports say. %% The agreement allows Kimberley Diamonds to gain an initial price that is less than 10 percent below the peak prices achieved before the onset of the financial crisis in 2008, reports say. Reports further add that Gem Diamonds would market the remaining commercial production from the Ellendale mine.
