Amotz Weinberg, the president of the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design is going to receive an honorary membership to the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) and as IDE president, Avi Paz explains, Weinberg has earned the title for his contribution to promoting professional training and development in the exchange. %% The association between the exchange and the Shenkar College dates back when Weinberg became president of the college in 1994. The relations have since been nurtured till today, where every bourse member is required to complete a specialisation course developed jointly by the IDE and Shenkar. %% Paz has stated that Weinberg, who teaches science of coloured gemstones and diamonds at the Shenkar College, has been instrumental in the revolution of the Israeli diamond industry in recent years, helping develop a close synergy between the jewellery and diamond sectors. He also mentioned that having Weinberg as an honorary member of the IDE was a mark of gratitude for Weinberg’s contribution and vision lent to the industry.
