As per reports the mineral-rich state of Orissa in India has huge potential for the exploration of platinum, according to P.M. Tejale, the director-general of the Geological Survey of India (GSI).%%Tejale said that platinum deposits of up to 14.2 million tonnes have already been found in the Boudh district and nearby areas, and that geoscientists are working on discovering more deposits. GSI has taken up 15 programs in Orissa this year, including mineral exploration and geo-informatics work, he added.
