The 8th iteration of the India Rough Gemstone Sourcing Show (IRGSS), hosted by the GJEPC, commenced in Jaipur on August 29th, inaugurated by Sugrive Meena, Commissioner of Customs, Jaipur. Vijay Prakash Verma, Assistant Commissioner of Customs, ACC, was also in attendance. The exhibition, spanning three weeks, will conclude on September 19, 2023.

Distinguished personalities from the industry graced the event, including Nirmal Kumar Bardiya, Regional Chairman; Dr. Nawal Agarwal, Convener of the Gold Jewellery Panel; K.B. Goyal, Convener of the Silver Jewellery Panel; and B.N. Gupta, Convener of the SFT/SS/CFJ Panel. Eminent members from the Regional Committee and CGS Panel Committee were also present.

A remarkable facet of the exhibition is the display of an array of rough emeralds, presented by Kagem Mining Ltd., Zambia, a Gemfields-owned entity. The Managing Director of Product & Sales, Adrian Banks, graced the inauguration and is set to remain in India for the entirety of the IRGSS event.
