Bharat Diamond Bourse Pays Tribute to Late Founding Member Shri Kavinbhai Chimanlal Parikh

The Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) came together in a solemn condolence meet to honour the memory of its revered founding member, Shri Kavinbhai Chimanlal Parikh, who passed away recently. The gathering saw an outpouring of respect and admiration from BDB office-bearers, industry stalwarts, and prominent diamantaires, all of whom reflected on his pivotal role in shaping both the institution and the broader Indian diamond industry

The memorial began with a moment of silence and candle lighting in remembrance of Shri Parikh, setting a tone of reverence. Emotional tributes followed, with senior leaders recounting his legacy of visionary leadership, ethical stewardship, and unwavering dedication to the growth of the trade.

BDB President Shri Anoop Mehta remarked, “Shri Kavinbhai was more than a founder—he was a guiding force behind the ethos of BDB. His vision and tireless efforts laid the groundwork for what the Bourse is today. His absence is deeply felt across the entire industry.”

Vice President Shri Mehul Shah offered a heartfelt message, recalling, “Kavinbhai was like family to us. His bond with my father was like that of brothers, and he carried that same love and warmth to the next generation. His wisdom was always paired with compassion—he truly was one of a kind.”

The event was attended by key figures in the diamond fraternity, including Mr. Kirit Bhansali (Chairman, GJEPC), Mr. Bharat Shah (Chairman, MDMA), Mr. Kanubhai B. Shah (President, Palanpur Samaj Kendra), Mr. Ashish Mehta (Managing Trustee, Vidyamandir), and Mr. Sanjay Kothari (Trustee, Parikh Hospital). International tributes were also shared via video by Ms. Feriel Zerouki (President, World Diamond Council) and Mr. Paul Rowley (EVP, De Beers Global Sightholder Sales), reflecting Shri Parikh’s global impact.

A formal resolution commemorating Shri Parikh’s lifelong service was presented to his family. Accepting it on behalf of the family, his son Mr. Milan Parikh expressed sincere gratitude for the overwhelming support and heartfelt remembrances.

Throughout his distinguished career, Shri Kavinbhai Parikh was admired not only for his instrumental role in the formation of BDB but also for his unwavering principles, humility, and dedication to community service. His contributions laid the foundation for a more transparent, united, and forward-looking diamond industry.
