Summarising the online shopping pattern for the week ending December 16, the Nielsen Online Holiday eShopping Index noted an increase of 9% in the volume of visits, in comparison to the corresponding period last year. There were 120 online retail websites analysed for this study.%%The report concluded that jewellery accounted for a 55% increase in its demand, to be followed by consumer electronics claiming a 9% increase while books, music and video recorded a 7% growth rate. The maximum number of visitors on a particular day was 34.9 million visitors, making this day, December 10 as the busiest shopping time.
