Jaipur-based Raniwala 1881 launches The Jaipur Edit, a fine jewellery collection inspired by the city’s architecture, royal traditions and polo culture as Jaipur approaches its 300th anniversary.
Raniwala 1881, a Jaipur-based fine jewellery house, has unveiled The Jaipur Edit, a collection inspired by the city’s architecture, cultural traditions and everyday life. The launch comes as Jaipur approaches its 300th anniversary.
The collection draws on the city’s architectural details, including jalis, arches, balconies and façades, alongside its royal heritage, sporting traditions and evening culture. Rather than replicating iconic monuments, the collection interprets elements of Jaipur’s visual identity through jewellery design.
The Jaipur Edit is divided into three chapters: The Grand Hall, Chaugan and Dusk. The Grand Hall draws inspiration from Jaipur’s architectural spaces, translating symmetry, scale and ornamentation into jewellery. Chaugan references the city’s royal sporting traditions, particularly polo, while Dusk explores the atmosphere of Jaipur after sunset, drawing on its gerua façades, terraces and evening celebrations.
“For us, Jaipur has never been something we simply draw inspiration from. It is something we have lived around and continue to discover. There is always another jali, another doorway, another colour, another story. The city is familiar, but it never feels ordinary. As Jaipur moves towards its 300th year, The Jaipur Edit is our way of looking at the city we call home, through the details that have shaped how we see beauty, design and jewellery,” said Abhishek and Abhiyant Raniwala, co-founders of Raniwala 1881.
Established in Jaipur in 1881, Raniwala 1881 specialises in Polki and diamond jewellery, combining traditional techniques with contemporary design. The company said The Jaipur Edit marks the beginning of a broader exploration of the relationship between Jaipur’s architecture, culture, rituals and jewellery.
