The International Gemological Institute (IGI) services across four countries now carry an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2000 certification. The IGI labs in the United States and Canada were accredited with the certification in 2003, followed by IGI labs in India and the United Arab Emirates. %% The ISO 9001:2000 certificate is granted to organisations that have a quality management system for independent third-party testing, classification, grading and certification of precious stones, jewellery and polished diamonds. The certificate implies that the organisation has demonstrated consistency in delivering its products and services, meeting customer and regulatory requirements, with the intent to enhance customer satisfaction. %% IGI India also has the International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC) 17025:2005 accreditation for its management for quality, administrative and technical operations. In order for it to abide by the ISO accreditation, every IGI lab undergoes an annual audit, this year being the sixth.
