Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), a mega Indian company exploring and mining alluvial in Congo, is interested in diversifying into the diamond business. It has planned on sending most of the diamonds mined in Congo to Surat, where it will set up a preliminary marketing office with a sales team of marketing experts and rough diamond sorters. The office will directly sell roughs to Surat based diamond manufacturers. %% It will also receive technical guidance from Indian Diamond Institute in Surat. The Group is also planning to venture into diamond processing, reports say.
