The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) is preparing to host a press conference on January 17, at the Vicenza Trade Show ‘FIRST’ show, slated to be held in London. The purpose of the conference is to explain applying the Responsible Jewellery Council’s Certification System to build consumer confidence and in turn multiply business growth, reports say. %% The press conference welcomes all in the jewellery trade media and RJC members, along with participants of the Vicenza Trade Show ‘FIRST’show, The conference will be presided by John Hall, vice chairman of the Responsible Jewellery Council, along with Pamela Caillens, corporate responsibility director for Cartier International, Dario De Gregorio, corporate organisation and international HR coordination director for BULGARI and Catherine Sproule, RJC's chief operations office. %% Reports add that the Vicenza Fair is the first trade fair in 2010 to outline the RJC certification system for the jewellery industry. The RJC system is presently fully operational and certifies that its members are responsible ethical, social and environmental practices in the complete chain of diamond and gold jewellery supply. %% The RJC applies third party auditing services to verify conformance with the RJC’s Code of Practices. The RJC certification process allows for early recognition of issues, applying corrective measures and enforcing sanctions in case of repeated, deliberate or un-remedied infringements, reports say. %% The RJC membership is open to any organisation involved in the diamond and gold supply chain and their trade associations. Presently, there are 150 RJC members in the industry.
