The month of October 2010 saw Antwerp’s diamond trade ending on a positive high on y-o-y basis. According to statistics published by the Antwerp World Diamond Centre Diamond Office, there was a 28.3 percent increase in the volume of polished diamond exports to 827,942 carats, and a 33.5 percent rise in value to $1.05 billion. Imports of polished diamonds rose 32.1 percent to 838,142 carats in volume and 22.8 percent in value to $938.1 million. %% Rough diamond exports rose 35.5 percent to 9.7 million carats in volume and by 39 percent to $942.6 million in value. Imports of rough diamonds rose by 3.2 percent in volume to 9.31 million carats and 12.9 percent in value to $843.1 million.
