International Diamond Laboratories (IDL) has made an official launch of its automated colour grading Color Meter and diamond colour certificate, at the IIJS in Mumbai today.
As Peter Meeus, CEO of IDL says. “The IDL color certificate offers an analysis of the 2 C’s that determine mainly the price of a diamond: carat and colour, and offers an accurate and low cost colour analysis in the B2B trade. Dealers can obtain certainty on colour before closing a deal.”
An IDL colour certificate gives the reassurance that the graded diamond is neither synthetic nor has it been treated. The carat weight is also mentioned on the certificate. The certificate for the smallest stones (22 points and below) costs around $10.
Stones will be thoroughly graded only at the IDL lab in Dubai, but the Mumbai and Antwerp offices will offer color grading.
