Jagannath Gangaram Pednekar (JGP) Jewellers has received accreditation from the Indian Association for Gold Excellence and Standards (IAGES) across its 24 retail outlets in Maharashtra and Goa.

The accreditation reflects the company’s adherence to structured standards around transparency, accountability and ethical business practices. IAGES functions as a Self-Regulatory Organisation (SRO) established by the Indian gold industry to introduce standardised frameworks across the value chain.

The accreditation process involves a comprehensive evaluation conducted by an independent third-party assessor. It covers retailers, manufacturers, refiners, bullion traders, assaying and hallmarking centres, and digital gold platforms.

Established in 1950, JGP Jewellers operates as a family-run business with over 75 years of presence in the jewellery sector, catering to multiple customer generations through traditional jewellery offerings.

“We’ve successfully built our brand over seven decades on pillars of trust, authenticity and transparency. The IAGES accreditation further reinforces our promise to consumers that they will always be welcomed with the highest values and the promise of ethical sourcing and transparent business practices when they walk into any of our stores. We look forward to working together with our contemporaries to reshape the gold industry into becoming a globally accepted, future ready reality,” said Anand Pednekar of Jagannath Gangaram Pednekar Jewellers.

According to IAGES, the accreditation serves both industry participants and consumers. For jewellers, it validates operational processes, ethical conduct and compliance standards, while for consumers it indicates adherence to defined benchmarks of sourcing, manufacturing and transparency.

“Our mission with IAGES is to bring greater structure and global alignment to India’s gold industry while addressing the need for formalisation within the domestic market. We are pleased to welcome Jagannath Gangaram Pednekar Jewellers to the network. Their accreditation highlights their commitment to industry standards and excellence, reflecting the values of integrity and responsibility that we stand for,” said Kaushlendra Sinha of IAGES.

IAGES is also running a nationwide consumer awareness initiative, ‘Before you buy gold, #PehlaCheckIAGES’, encouraging buyers to verify accreditation status before selecting a retailer.
