Augmont has launched an AI-powered Gold Purity Evaluation Machine at its Poonamallee Gold Loan branch in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, as part of its efforts to digitize and streamline gold assessment services. The machine uses robotic and artificial intelligence-based technology to evaluate the purity of gold ornaments through a non-invasive process. Customers can receive an assessment of purity and an approximate valuation of their gold within seconds.

The evaluation system is integrated with Augmont’s gold loan technology platform, allowing eligible customers to proceed directly with the gold loan application process following assessment. According to the company, this integration reduces turnaround time and enables the process from purity testing to loan disbursal to be completed within minutes.

In addition to supporting gold loan applications, the facility is intended to assist customers in making decisions related to selling or recycling gold based on technology-driven purity analysis.
