The World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) in its scope is making diamond dealers aware and warning them about fake certificates for treated diamonds and gemstones circulating within the industry, at present. These fake certificates carry pseudo-documents which appear to be issued by diamond grading laboratories like GIA and EGL in South Africa. Irrespective of the information in the fake certificates, the diamonds are HPHT treated, reports say. %% WFDB issued a written warning after a special announcement made by the Chairperson of the Diamond Dealers Club in South Africa, reports say. In the announcement, the Chairperson advised diamond dealers to examine their diamonds from an authorised laboratory, incase they doubt the authenticity of the certificate. The Chairperson also announced that any findings of false diamond certificates must be reported to the secretariat of the Diamond Dealers Club.
